A Light In The Window
It is difficult to effectively develop characters and believable dialogue. Jan Karon excels at both. This is a great, enjoyable read!

At The Corner of Mundane and Grace
I was first introduced to Chris Fabry some years ago in his role as one of
the hosts of the morning show on WMBI, Moody radio in Chicago. I greatly
enjoyed listening to him then. Just as much as I enjoy reading him now.

"One night a local pastor told me
he felt led of God that I should go and witness for Christ in the nightclub across the river. That was a bad place, the scene of stabbings and even bombings. I said, 'Well, if you feel led, maybe you should go.'
He asked me to pray about it and I learned that prayer can be dangerous. Sure enough, God told me to go. Fred and Don and another friend, Charlie, went along. I carried my little red Bible and directed by the bartender, went to a cubbyhole in the back. Don, Freddie, and Charlie decided to stay in the hall and pray while I knocked hard. The door flew open to reveal six glaring eyes. The manager looked up at me from a pile of cash, flanked by two bouncers.
I said that my friends and I wanted to tell people about Jesus. The manager looked at my Bible, into my eyes, back at the Bible and back at me. 'All right,' he said.
'All right?' I gasped.
'Yeah.' He shrugged, turning back to his counting. 'You can have the stage when the band takes its next break.'
I walked out, stunned and grinning, but my friends didn't notice. As I passed them in the dingy, dim hallway, they stood there with their heads bowed, one of them fervently praying, 'Lord, please be with Sam.'
A few minutes later the band unstrapped their instruments and wandered from the little platform. I knew if I waited I'd lose my nerve, so I hurried to the microphone.
'Listen,' I began. 'I don't know what y'all think about Jesus Christ . . . ,' and a hush fell over the place. 'But let me tell you what He's done for me.'
After I told my story, the four of us split up to share Christ individually with people. Several gave their hearts to Jesus that night."
SoAmazing Review:
In God's Secret Agent, the inspiring
story of Sammy Tippet, it didn't take Sammy long to
realize that prayer can be dangerous. God just might
challenge him to live a daring and exciting life.
