Desire God's Best?
You desire nothing less than his best, so
you pray as Jabez did and ask God to bless you. When God's work in and
through you really takes off, the demands on your time, strength and
resources may overwhelm you. Do not despair, his hand will be with you. Your
dependence on him, along with his power and resources, will be more than
enough.
A Prayer begins . . .
Heavenly Father, oh, that you would bless us, indeed, and enlarge our
territories. Let your hand be with us. Keep us from evil that we may not cause pain.

Love That Dependent Feeling
Category: Christian Living, Prayer Keywords: leader, dependent, Walk thru the Bible, John Mitchell, Lord Jesus, Multnomah Publishers,
Wilkinson, Bruce Wilkinson,
"Talk about plummeting! I felt out of control and weak--nothing like a leader is
supposed to feel--and most days all I could see was the ground rushing up at me. It was
early in my ministry adventure, after doors had started to burst open on exciting new
possibilities at Walk Thru the Bible. But I just couldn't shake the feeling that I was
the wrong man for the job.
Extremely upset, I decided to seek the counsel of a trusted older man. John Mitchell was
in his eighties then--a Yorkshire-born Bible teacher who had been a spiritual father to
thousands. I told him what I thought God was calling me to do and then confessed my
problem. I was still trying to describe my crisis in some detail when he broke in.
'Son,' he said in his kindly brogue, 'that feeling you are running from is called
dependence. It means you're walking with the Lord Jesus.' He paused to let me take in
his words, then continued. 'Actually, the second you're not feeling dependent is the
second you've backed away from truly living by faith.'
I didn't like what I heard. 'You're saying, Dr. Mitchell, that feeling that I just can't
do it is what I'm supposed to be feeling?'
Why certainly, young man!
he said, beaming. 'That's the one all right' "
SoAmazing Review: A one-sentence prayer and its
dramatic influence on Bruce Wilkinson's life combine to create a must-read book. Don't
just read the book. Do what Wilkinson did. Pray the prayer and expect the blessings.

Evil Vacuum
Category: Christian Living, Evangelism Keywords:
church, good, evil, salt, Zondervan Publishing House, Briner, Bob Briner
"When the church and its people are absent, when there is no preserving
salt and no
roaring lambs, the same thing always happens. It is just as sure as a law of physics.
When a vacuum is created, it is always filled. When good departs, evil always fills in
behind it. If you remove the salt, the meat spoils. It rots. This is what happened to
the movies."
SoAmazing Review: Briner throws down the gauntlet.
Forgo complaining and proactively provide the spiritual, emotional, technical and
financial support to bring our salt out of the saltshakers and into contact with our
culture.
