No Matter What
God's words are powerful. They have a
way of catching our attention, even at those times when we may not want them to. They attack
our hearts and do not let go, no matter what.
A prayer begins . . .
Dear Heavenly Father, we honor you. We are grateful for your words. We
do not want to miss them, no matter what.
Announcement . . .
After more than five years of publishing the SoAmazing Letter, initially weekly, and more recently five days-a-week, it is time for a break. The 100th edition of the daily SoAmazing Letter will be published this Friday, and it seems like a propitious point at which to take that break.
The SoAmazing Letter has never been self-sustaining financially. Our ability to continue its publication, without establishing a sound financial underpinning for it, is at an end. We have tried a number of ways to establish a sound financial foundation, but none have succeeded. God has graciously supplied what was needed for these many years, but those supplies are now depleted.
We plan to try one additional method of funding the SoAmazing Letter. I will become a "Tentmaker" and attempt to generate enough resources for my family's needs and enough additional resources to support this ministry. The "Tentmaker" tradition is
one that has been used by many Christians over the years and is modeled after the Apostle Paul's approach to supporting his own ministry centuries ago.
In his case, he was actually a Tentmaker. Others in Christian ministries who have followed the same pattern as the Apostle Paul since that time have also been referred to as "Tentmakers."
Unfortunately, I will need time to develop the ability to do this successfully and ask for your prayers to God on my behalf.
The plan is to cease publishing the SoAmazing Letter after this Friday and not resume again, unless the financial base is secure. In any event, there will be no publication until at least the first week in September. The SoAmazing.com website will remain active with a fresh front page everyday. You may visit it regularly to read the front page and the hundreds of previous editions of the SoAmazing Letter.
God has been gracious and sufficient. Publishing the SoAmazing Letter has been a labor of love, and hopefully, it will resume. I am grateful to you for being loyal readers. You matter to God, and you matter to me. I close with these words from 2 Thessalonians 3:18 (Msg), "The incredible grace of our Master, Jesus Christ, be with all of you."
